Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-7)
One17:33 song to write as useful a blog entry as possible, no pressure. Except I don’t have a starting point or anything emphatic to say today. Last night was an all nighter, race to the finish on an exciting new project, we’ve got two weeks until the pitch meeting. Today has been a groggy but awesome day. We got a Roku HD player this week, but our TV is SD. I need an HDTV, 1080p, 240 hz. Yankee games on my TV with mlb.tv. My buddy (coincidentally a Yankee fan) on chat wants to know if I’m a member of WGA, I am not. He knows someone who is and wants to know what it takes to be in WGA. I tell him. Lengthily. Shine on, you crazy Diamond. I love that photo of the ocean that’s on my other computer screen. Taking pictures is fun and gets me to use a part of my brain I love visiting with. My father is an amazing photographer, seems to have tired of the sport as of late. Probably needs a trip somewhere beautiful and a mission. Jazz Sax Interlude. The song fades… …directly into another part, the wind blowing. Oh yeah, it’s parts 1-7, sweet! I just switched off my iTunes random mix, think we’ll have a go with the Floyd this evening. 13:36 gives me chills. This is a sick intro, is anyone else out there listening to this right f*cking now? 14:32 bust into the jazz rockblues hustle and I got a new idea about a film. No, I’m not telling. Notebook time. Notebook’s too far, sh*t…I got 1:58 left to go, and we’re into the bridge. I missed my one chance in 1994 to see these guys play while Richard Wright was still alive. I had vowed to give a nut (not necessarily left) to get a front row seat at the reunion with Roger Waters. Guess I’m keeping my nut, shame. Bringing it back around, “Nobody knows where you are…how near or how far…..” Wife is calling now, preheat the oven to 350 please…I’m on it now, baby. Looks like we’re staying in tonight, which is good, because it’s a tad chilly out.
